Hi Molly I’m 3 weeks post op, I had Unders so that effects recovery in a bit of a different way too but my top tips would be:
If you could possibly get a neck pillow, or a v pillow or even a Reclinable bed rest to help you sleep/sit upright. I got a reclinable bed rest for like £20 online from amazon and it really helped. I would often slip down my pillows a lot and it makes your chest go all tight and makes pain worse then having to sit up. If all else fails just makes sure you have a lot of pillows to prop you upright. It’s a pain having to sleep sitting up but promise it’s better than the actual pain of lying down and helps with symmetry!
You may get really bad bloating from the GA or if you’re using codeine. But drinking lots of water and peppermint tea helps.
If you have strapping on it may be really itchy but an antihistamine tablet can help with that too!
Lastly I’d just say have help for a few days. And make things more reachable accessible to you. I had a bed tray to have water, tv remote, snacks on etc because I wasn’t really able to move my arms that much!
Again overs is different to unders and everyone’s recovery is different! Hope it all goes well and here if you have anymore questions 😀
