My closest clinic is Bristol.. do I have to go to London for the operation?

I have my first appointment next Saturday and I have heard that I wont be able to have the surgery in Bristol and will have to travel to London. Is that true?? If so, how did you girls get on with that? It makes it so much more scary!!

Yes, the place on Bristol is a clinic, but you need to be in a hospital for the actual surgery. All of your before and after care would be in the Bristol clinic though.
I live in Bristol and travelled to Birmingham for my operation (I went with another company rather than Mya). Due to me living far away from the hospital I was a night case, but I liked that as I knew I was in the best place!

Did you take someone with you? I expect it’s more expensive if you stay overnight.

It’s like 500 extra to stay over night I’m afraid but waiting to have mine. Done as not long had a baby so got to see surgeon again I’m with her Birmgham mya and mine will either be done in London or Preston it’s annoying. As both are a 3 hour drive away :/ xx

My fiancé dropped me off, he left once I was settled into my hospital room. Then the next day he drove back to collect me. On the way it took 1.5 hours but unfortunately on the way back it took over double that due to traffic!
It is more expensive to stay overnight, but the surgeon didn’t give me the choice. I expected that to be the case, plus I felt like I was safest in the hospital, just in case I needed someone!

I live in Devon – Used the Bristol MYA Clinic, but op was in London. Paid the extra for an Over Night as above incase anything happened living so far from London.
My BF took me, stayed in my room the entire time, until i went to sleep and came and picked me up first thing in the morning – was totally NO STRESS. the really look after you through the night bringing you treats and drinks. i am so glad i stayed the night xxx
