I’m in at 7:15 and really up and down with the nerves. I have wanted a BA for 3 years now so it’s crazy tomorrow is almost here. Does anyone have any advice or could share their experience of being put to sleep and waking up? Think it will help me loads if I have something to read while I wait tomorrow. Xx

    Hi Harriette

I had my BA on Monday. It will honestly be over before you know it. I walked into theatre and they then gave me the anasthetic, within about 1 minute I was out like a light. I came round very quick though only 30 mins after surgery.

The nurses will make you feel very at ease. I hope it all goes well! Xx

    Hey lovely,

I’m 8 days post op. I had unders and honestly don’t worry about anything. It’s honestly over soooo quickly and you’ll be soo glad you had it done! It doesn’t hurt going to sleep or anything and when you wake up I was like ‘oh it’s done,’ and I was in for an hour and a half because of unders, and I don’t even remember going to sleep haha! If you have overs it will be a lot quicker! Also I was dreading the pain and recovery and I can’t say it’s been super easy but honestly not as bad as I thought!!! Like you’ve gotta prepare to obviously feel a bit uncomfortable and need time to heal but honestly never regretted my decision one bit!! A couple of tips, if you can try and get a v shaped pillow or a neck pillow, or a bed wedge/recliner to help with sitting up at night, then it’s so worth it! That’s if you’ll struggle with sleeping upright.

Things to maybe expect after surgery is bloating and itching. Not everybody gets this so again don’t panic. If so get somebody to get you some laxatives, peppermint tea for the bloating and antihistamines for the itching. Again you might not even need these. Just some things I’ve found have helped and are common for people on here!

Take an iPad or something to distract you whilst you wait tomorrow and just keep thinking how good and confident you will feel after you’ve got your new boobs!!!

Best of luck! Here is you have anymore questions! Xxx

I had my surgery abroad and I dont know what I was more terrified about, the plane or the anaesthetic ! Anyway it was a laugh, I already had a cannula in my arm when a guy gave me a mask to breathe something in, then a minute later I was waking up absolutely FREEZING !!!!!!!! I settled quickly and experienced no after effects of the GA I was back to normal that day. Dont worry, it feels like 10 seconds. And I was convinced I would die :L
