Op 1st March… Still don’t know which hospital

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone is in the same predicament as me…

My op is booked 1st March, so just over a week away. Originally it was supposed to take place at the Fitzroy, but I soon learnt that it was closing from looking on the forum. Since then I’ve asked which hospital I’m going to be at and I still haven’t been told?

I called today and they still did not know which isn’t the best as I’m beginning to panic now. I have to make arrangements for hotel etc and I’m being given very little time to do that.

I was just wondering if anyone’s surgery was on the same day and have experienced the same issues as me.

I’m so disappointed that the Fitzroy clinic shut down. One of the reasons I chose mya was because everything was in one place-the consultations, the surgery and the post op appointments. After my surgery , I found out through Facebook that it had shut down and I was due a post op appointment at the Fitzroy. I never had a call or even an email to let me know my appointment location had changed.

I know Shannon, it is really bad. I had my pre op on the 8th and they said that they were waiting for confirmation so I just assumed that I’d find out very soon but clearly not. I think it is terrible its like they have forgot about me. Imagine if I never called and I left it that bit longer and I end up not being able to have the surgery on my date because they havent sorted it, I would be so unhappy.

I had to call today to arrange my post op appointment, even though I was told I’d receive a call for when they could get me in.

I have felt like I’m over reacting abit, but now I am thinking about it I’m really not it’s an absolute joke.

Sorry to rant lol I am just very stressed about it.

My ops on the 5th of March I booked it and was told it would be at the new Victoria Kingston hospital now they’re unsure of it can go ahead that day as with them moving from fitzroy I was told I’d get confirmation whether it’s going ahead or not yesterday and no one called I’ve called today and they’re still saying they don’t know if my date will remain the same which is really annoying as my partners booked time off work

When did you book your op? And that is so annoying. I do completely understand that it’s difficult to keep everyone in the loop when they may not know what is going on themselves but at the same time we have paid alot of money and we have to prepare and make arrangements so to be getting let down last minute, it is not fair. I am the same as you, my mom, dad and partner have booked time off work and I’ve arranged for my children to stay with their nan for the first week. I still need to book a hotel which is going to cost how much anyway and I dread to think how much more expensive it will be leaving it so close now. It is just really disheartening.

@chloe yeah it’s so wrong I booked mine 2 weeks ago so they could of warned me then but they didn’t. I’ve just called them again to see if they know if it’s still going ahead on the 5th and they still don’t know they told me I’d know by the Tuesday just gone I’m so frustrated yes same I’ve made arrangements with my family to take and pick my kids up from school so they’ve all booked time off work 😩 let me know when you find out xx

I called again this morning, they said head office will give me a call within the hour. I called at 10 and still haven’t heard anything. They said I will definitely hear today so I’ve just gotta wait and see I suppose. Il let you know if I hear anything, and I hope you find out very soon

Surely they have to plan staffing and everything more than 2 weeks in advance, so I really don’t understand how they can’t know what hospital it is and if it’s actually going ahead.

What a nightmare 😫 I hope you’ve heard something else by now?! My hospital has been changed, my OPS stayed the same date the 2nd of April… but now I’ve had to cancel my hotel which was £391 non refundable and book another hotel for £130… I only found out the hospital had changed when my second consultation was cancelled and changed date…. every single appointment has been cancelled or changed. Cant wait to get it over with now 🙄

Ohhh noo that’s terrible, I’m so glad I didn’t book my hotel when I first booked. That’s such a shame for you and such alot of money. I feel the same I just want it out of the way now. My location still hasn’t been confirmed, my pc text me yesterday to say she believes it will be at Welbeck but still needs confirmation from the head office… So still not a definite answer as to where it will be. I’m just not stressing about it anymore, as its not going to change anything. Hopefully everything else goes smoothly for you.

It’s ridiculous after me chasing and chasing last week I was then told I’m now having my surgery on the 20th of March instead of the 5! Then Friday at 830pm my pc called me and said they don’t think they can fit me in in March now but I will find out for defiant today they told me that I’d know for defiant last week I’m so annoyed I should of been having my surgery next week my partners booked the time off and everything oh and they’ve also change the hospital I’m no longer going to Kingston 😩
