    Hey Girl,

So 15 years later I’m taking the plunge and got my op booked for 8th Feb.

I have no idea what I need to buy in beforehand what do you recommend? Did any of you take Arnica before surgery?

    ✅ Macom Bras

I’ve waited so long due to not finding the right surgeon and now I don’t even feel excited, did anyone else feel like this too?

Now every surgeon is different. My surgeon wanted everything clean and no thinning of the blood so he srvised not to take anything at all. I am 9 days post op and really happy.
With regards to a bra, Macom bra is very overrated in my opinion and very uncomfortable. 3 girls I know all suggested the Victoria’s Secret Pink, zip up sports bra. Iv been wearing that and it’s been a life saver, amazing and so comfortable. Plus it actually looks nice as well lol.
There’s a lot of people who do start taking arnica, using bio oil etc. I did nothing and I don’t have stretch marks; bruising or anything. So personally Hun, I’d say do it naturally, so that you don’t have any complications after. X

Congratulations on booking your op! I didn’t use bio oil or arnica prior to surgery and I have been fine – no bruising, swelling or stretch marks. I have the Macom bra, it does the job, but at first it felt very tight across my ribs, I suppose I’m used to it by now though. I also bought the Asda post surgery bras but I haven’t worn those yet. The thing that has helped the most me since my surgery has been my bed wedge for keeping me propped upright for sleeping, I’m so glad I got it! It has stopped my back from aching so much.

I think for me I was just so focused on getting it done and getting my recovery started that I didn’t really give myself the chance to get excited! I also only booked my surgery 17 days before so I didn’t leave myself a lot of time to think about it. It all happened so fast, but I am a very impatient person so that was probably the best for me! I think a week or two before it will all feel a bit more real and you’ll be able to start getting yourself excited – it might not have properly sunk in for you yet that you’re finally doing it!

    Enjoy the journey!

Thanks girls for your reply, I’ll get a few different bras n see what I feel more comfortable with.

You know what I thought I was prepared and totally not

How long do you think I can return to work? I’m a cosmetic tattoo artist any idea?

Well as long as your not lifting anything heavy, I think you’ll be fine in 7 days hun. But even then I’d say take it easy. Xx

The only thing for me is that I don’t have quite the same strength in my arms as I had before just yet – I definitely can’t reach and stretch fully right now and some things like driving, pushing and pulling feel a bit more difficult now than they did before. I would bear that in mind when thinking about how much time to take off, and definitely, take it easy once you’re back and give yourself chance to adjust.

I bought one of the ASDA non-wired comfort bras as well as my Macom to try and switch it up and not let my boobs rely on one type of support (I wore Macom continually for the first week but after that wore Macom at night and Asda in the day). Have you got some of the antibac shower gel? I think its called like Octensian??
Also an absolute must for me for sleeping was my V Pillow!!! I got mine for £7 from Groupon but they also sell them on Amazon xx

I wore the macom for the whole 6 weeks and bought the asda £3 ones to sleep in and i still sleep in them now at 7 months post op haha,
Make sure you have joggers/comfy clothers to travel home in, zip up or button up clother as you can’t lift your arms into a top for a while, throat sweets as some girls have a really dry throat after & take straws so you can still drink,
I also used a pillow wedge and was a live saver with a travel neck pillow xx
