Codeine ibruprofen and paracetamol aren’t touching it and Iv had all I can have in 24 hours in 12 hours !! Any tips ? Called docs they said to call my surgeon but I’m not going all the way there for morphine !! Feels like I have stabbing pains and they are burning!!

Morning Stacey, sorry to hear your in such a high degree of pain but don’t let it be a cause for concern that others havent had the same experience, the procedure it’s self is far more evasive for some than others, i too found the early stages unbearable and felt like the painkillers had zero effect, im 1 year post op now but at the time of my surgery there were lots of girls who used ice packs and swore by them, they didn’t help me but i loathe the feeling of ice anyway but there were girls who said they had gone from excruciating pain to a really manageble level of pain just by using the ice so it’s definately worth a try!
Sorry there’s nothing else i can suggest other than also maybe contacting your GP again to insist that your not well enough to make the trip to your clinic to obtain something stronger via your surgeon and really need them to prescribe something in the meantime just to cover you for the first few days, allthough you did have the operation privately your GP still has a duty of care to you, really hope your feeling better soon the first few days are tough but you will get through them and it will be worth it in the end xxx

Hi Stacey, I had surgery done on Monday and Tuesday was horrendous for me – I was really emotional, and same as you I felt stabbing pain and felt like my stitches were going to burst with the slightest movement. I spoke to my nurse about taking extra painkillers and she said to avoid paracetamol and ibuprofen so maybe double check about that. Have been using ice packs too which have helped ease the pain. I’m day 4 now and still really uncomfortable but definitely much better and more mobile. Hope you feel better soon!

Omg- ive given birth twice with no pain releif but post op days 1 and 2 i was in tears. I second ice, para/codeine/ibuprofen and perseverance. V shaped pillow for night with one under you bum to stop you slipping. Some people have no pain, some really suffer. I hope your feeling better soon. Day 4/5 i was on my feet and venturing out and about very slowly!
