Parents being more negative than positive about wanting a boob job Started by: Jess

The more surgeons I am seeing, the more I feel like my parents are realising this is serious to me. They started off really amicable; just think about it, weigh the pros and cons etc.
I’ve been so happy and excited doing my research and the possibility of having boobs, something which has always bothered me as I am flat chested.
Recently it’s just become more and more negative. What if it goes wrong, the future, are you doing this for only you, you are fine the way you are.
The negativity is now making me doubt a successful outcome and result and making me feel like they will be disappointed if I get it done.

Has anyone else had such hills to climb with their parents?

    Hey Jess,
I’ve had the same thing with my parents and the in laws. Especially as I have 2 young children but now I have a date they have started to come round and decided to help me. It does make you really think .. am I doing the right thing but at the end of the day it’s your body and only you know how you feel. So exciting the concept of having boobies though. Good luck xx

    Thanks for sharing this Temisha!
Yeah, everyone else in my family got the gift, so they wouldn’t know the true feeling i don’t think!
I am glad they are now helping & supporting you.
I wonder if pregnancy has more health risks than a breast Aug?! If it does, I wouldn’t even worry yourself.
Keep me updated on how you go & your results!
    Best of luck xx

Ahh, it’s hard talking to parents/family about it!
I’m 46 and i made my big sister tell my mum!!! Loool. It’s daunting what ever age you are, it that seal of approval I think! My mum was fine and have had support from the people I’ve told.
My 18yr old son was embarrassed by it all, but has been fine with it.

And i questioned myself constantly, is it too expensive, am i too old, what will people think??.
And i thought, life is too short to worry about other’s opinions and i should do what makes me happy!!…So I did! Im had my op 7 days ago and very glad o did.

Good luck to you girls, family will come round eventually, dont worry xx
