    Hi,
I am 3 days post op and I am so bloated I honestly look full term pregnant. I have got laxatives and stopped taking the codeine but in lots of pain and can’t take deep breaths.
Has anyone else experienced this and could give me some advice. I am going to the toilet but it seems to be getting worse rather than better.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

Ah really feel for you. I remember posting about this a few weeks ago! Mine was horrendous too but you’ve just got to wait it out sadly :-(. Mine lasted about 1 week of being huge literally preggers like you say. Try and drink lots of water I know it’s hard when you’re already so bloated but it will help flush your system out. I also tried laxative but found it didnt really help much with the bloated ness. Good luck sorry not much help xxx

It’s horrible Isn’t it. I’m 3 weeks post op and it’s only just gone. Laxatives didn’t make a difference with me either. I did buy some peppermint oil capsules and I think it slightly helped. Drinking lots of water helped too.
I looked 9 months pregnant and it really upset me but it’s totally normal after a general anaesthetic x

I’m also struggling with bloating and I’m not even taking painkillers really. I had one codeine in the hospital and then an ibuprofen before bed and today (one day post op) I haven’t taken anything and everywhere is swollen. My legs with compression stockings, my arms and espeically my belly. I look pregnant too, but it’s all totally normal with general anaesthetic and fluid retention, it gets worse taking painkillers, hopefully the bloating will all go for us soon as I know it’s not nice xxx
