Hi all, i had my BA on Thursday and the pain has been mostly barable with the odd really sore period. Today i have had nothing but agonising pain from my drain holes?? I’m taking the antibiotics and pain killers as recommended, but i’m so worried this isn’t normal as the pain is only on my right side in the drain hole! i’m all strapped up and in my bra so can’t look at them yet. But have noticed some small leakage from the drain hole( not sure if this was the day of the op or not) Can anyone let me know if this is normal and what i can do to ease it or wether i need to call my emergency nurse? xx

i am a registered veterinary nurse not human nurse but, seroma fluid is normal and the body will produce it when theres dead space. Without looking your incisions without the dressing off it is diffcult to advise. But you’re already on analgesia and antibiotics so you should be fine until dressing change. If the dressings become excessively soiled on may be call and see if you can have the post op appointment earlier? But to have some seroma fluid it is normal xx

For your own peace of mind contact the nurse , I called the out of hours number when I had a concern and I was glad I did in the end. Better to be safe than sorry xxxx
