    Hi Ladies,

I’m booked in for my op on 23/02/17 to have 350cc unders with Mr Mounir and I’m just wondering if anyone could recommend some bras for immediately after the op?? I know there’s Macom bra’s but I’ve heard they’re very restricting, can be painful and can be a lot of pressure on your boobs, so wondering if there’s any alternatives???

Hi Samantha, I’m having mine done on the 1st Feb! Exciting isn’t it?!
My surgeon advised not to spend a fortune on post surgery bras, he said asda do a front zip one which is perfect and very comfortable apparently, unfortunately they don’t have any in the size I need so I bought one of eBay, £8! Feels comfy, supportive and not too restricting. Search for zip front bras on there. Hope all goes well with the op. Xx

I honestly could not have survived without my Macom. I bought a 34 (normally a 32) and it’s been a god send! Now (5DPO) I’ve had to put it on the tighter fitting but it’s now perfect again. Twice I’ve tried on the M&S high impact front zip bra I bought in a 34 and been in agony. I wouldn’t necessarily rule out Macom – just recommend you go up a back size for comfort 🙂 xx

I’ve got my op tomorrow and I was advised not to spend silly amounts on post op bras. I’ve bought an M&S sports bra with zip front and also a couple of matalan ones which are also zip front. Xx

    Hi Samantha
I’m two weeks post op now and bought my size in a Macom, tried it on after surgery and it wouldnt fit and even now at this point it won’t fit me still. I also bought one off eBay that was £5.00 and it fit perfectly nurse was surprised it was so cheap and well made. I bought one from JD sports to replace the Macom which was £15 and that’s really comfortable too.
    Hope this helps

I got two back closing bras and a front closing one from m and s the rear close ones were awful and lay on the incisions but the front close one was good, I then bought another in a smaller back from m and s and another from matalan, m and s is better quality and supports nicer but if you only will be wearing one back size before dropping for two weeks or so I’d just get matalan ones or Asda then spend more on ones that will be your actual size that you can wear more x

I wore my macom for the whole first 7 days over my strapping and then at my 1 week post check i was so swollen the nurse couldnt get my macom back on so for a week i wore my high impact m&s zip up sports bra (normally a 32 back but got 36 for comfort)
I can now fit into my 32 back macom comfortably and wear that at night and my high impact zip up in the day. m&s angles brand also do high impact padded bras – i wear these if i am meeting friends and wearing clothes a sports bra could be seen through.

I defo reccomend getting a couple back sizes bigger than you are i still wear my 36 to be comfortable Xxxx

    Forgot to add prices –

M&S high impact zip up bras – £25 each (i found the white one was only in the larger stores or online) –
And, the M&S angels high impact support BRA – £16 (These also i only found in bigger stores)

    Hope this helps. Xxx

Thank you so much. I have seen so many posts where people are wearing lots of different things and I want to be comfortable for sure but of course do everything right and recommended. I think I’ll get a macom and 99% of people seem to be recommending m&s so I think I’ll get a few of those too. I deffo want things that will be suitable under work shirts etc and of course spares as 24 hours a day 7 days a week they will be stinky as hell I bet!! Xxx

I was told also not too bother with Macom, apparently loads of patients afterwards are like why didn’t you tell me to use another brand lol… each to their own … I was advised to go asda (again limitations on sizes. Or m&s… they have loads all zip front also I got the post surgery one. Don’t spend money on a breast band either, if you need one you will usually wake up with it on (from my experience anyway). Good luck on your boob journey Hun x

I don’t know if this is a really stupid question but how do you know what size to buy if you buy from m&s… I feel a bit confused as I don’t know what size I will be! xx

I was a 32a and had 335cc hp unders, I told my surgeon I wanted to be a definite D cup so he told me to get 34D sports bras. I bought a 2 pack sports bra from matalan for £8 and they are amazing! So comfy for daytime and to sleep in not restricting but give me total support xxx
