    Hello!
    I have my pre op appointment on the 9th of Oct and then my operation on the 14th of Nov. So excited! Anyone else having their op around that time?
    Also I was wondering about the pre op appointment. What kinda stuff do they cover and is there anything I should be asking etc?
    Thanks for you guys’ help!

    Pre op is basically all your medical history, checking your blood pressure, pulse rate, weight, height, 2 MRSA swabs. Some people have a blood test at this point, but it all depends on your medical history if you’ll need one. She also takes pre op photos and confirms the implants you’ve chosen and that you’re still happy with them. You sign a few documents and that’s it! Count down to your op beginnings 🙂 xx

    @hannahlaura @natgreg @liv-young91 What hotels are/did you guys stay at? Everything is so expensive in London!

    @Natgreg you only have to get a doctors letter if there is something in your history that they want to make sure your fit for surgery from.
    I had about certain heart problems on my history so they required a recent ECG and doctors fit for surgery note.xx

    @francesca28 I live in London so I’m just jumping in a cab (because of the train strike)! Did you look at the travelodge? It’s not too far from the clinic xx

    @natgreg what train strike?! ahhh I’m so unprepared for London xD
    Yeah I have had a look at travelodge but it’s still like £264 for 2 days, that’s crazy expensive compared to Norwich where I’m from haha!

    @francesca28 the trains are on strike on Thursday 5th!! But apart from that day they should be running smoothly! You should be fine for your pre op and surgery! Oh god is it that much! Have you looked at the local bnb’s? I dunno how nice they are though xx

    Menu

    @natgreg Oh okay phew!
    Yeah the cheapest I’ve found is £84 a night, and that’s in a b&b (it looks a bit old and gross) hah!
    good luck for your surgery! it’s so close!

    I’ve got my pre op appointment on 5th Oct and I’m having a re-aurgmention on the 13th November with Mr Mounir too (1st op was 12 years ago) I have booked the jurys inn for 2 night as close by and I will be travelling on my own by taxi to the hospital on the day. X

    @francesca28 I live in London, so I just went home after my op, so I can’t help really help with the hotels. Although maybe look around Euston station area as they have a lot, you might get a good deal. Xx

    @natgreg
    they do write to your gp tho and tell them what you’re having done. As I turned up at the docs on Friday and she knew all about it, I was so confused until she showed me that MYA sent a letter lol xx

    I have my pre-op on Thursday 5th Oct and surgery on 13th Nov in London.
    I found a Premier Inn 15 mins away from the hospital which was just over £100 for the night if that’s any help. Different dates were different prices so might be worth checking with the hotel the price of the particular day you want it. Just be wary a lot of the hotels in London don’t have on-site parking so you may have to park in a nearby carpark. So also worth checking that! Hope this helps 🙂 xx

    @becky22
    thanks for your message that helps so much!
    I don’t need to worry about parking as I’m getting the train there and back so I need everything in taxi/walking distance. I can drive but my partner doesn’t and I obviously can’t drive myself home post op haha
    I’m gonna be staying in London for a couple of days and everything is so expensive, I guess I’m just looking for a cheap b&b, as long as it’s clean and has a bed I don’t care too much xD
    good luck at the pre op! 🙂 xx

    Ahh I see that will be quite pricey if you’re staying a few days then.
    Thank you too and good luck! Hope you manage to find something at a decent price xxx
