Hi girls! I have my surgery on 1st feb. I saw another girl mention having zip or button tops as you can’t really lift your arms after surgery. I thought this was a great tip as I hadn’t even thought of that. Is there any other tips or things you’d do before/after surgery?

Ps – fake tan: do I need to scrub absolutely everything off before surgery?

    Thanks x

    Hello,

My mate who had her BA last year gave me a few tips.

She said the same about the button up top and has given me like a button up nightgown almost.
Wash and plait your hair night before as you won’t be able to shower for a couple of days after surgery.
Take a dressing gown and slippers (home comforts and also you get dressed in those bum showing hospital gowns)
Flannels and baby wipes by your bedside table (for fresh and washing)
If you can get a v pillow because ideally you’ll have to sleep slightly upright for the first few nights
Take snacks/drinks for after op (this may have just been a note for me as I’m always thinking about food And wouldn’t have eaten since 12am night before hahaha)
Entertainment of some sort as you obviously can’t leave the hospital right away

I hope some of that helps.

    Hi jaye,
I am currently 12days post op and would 100% recommend the Macom surgery bra it’s a little expensive but definitely worth it.
If it still works you could try using this code to get 15% off ‘harleymedical15’

Also you will need to arrive as natural as you can so yes remove all fake tan, make up etc.

    Hope this helps 🙂

    You don’t need anything
Just wear joggers zip up hoody and bring a charger .
You don’t need slippers or dressing gown or change of clothes just put the same stuff back on you wore there.
You don’t need snacks. you can’t eat before. And after they give you food x

What danni write above is incorrect.
During Covid you have to bring as little as possible no home comforts.
The nurses will tell you this.

Hi Jaye! I had surgery on 21 December in Preston First Trust hospital. To the hospital I took a V pillow, pjs with button up top and slippers, surgery bra (Macom ones are great), charger, iPad, snacks and another drink as they usually give you water or juice. Don’t forget your mask either! I bought 2 V pillows as it helped a lot when sitting up to sleep and plenty of button up and zip up tops although I can move my arms quite a bit now as I had overs. I plaited my hair before surgery but I had help to wash it at home so they only stayed in 2 days. Hope this helps ☺️ X

    Hey!

I had surgery on the 12th December at Harley health village.
You have to be as natural as possible- no makeup, fake tan, jewellery/all piercings removed, no hair extensions etc.
I took a change of clothes/shirt dress leggings/underwear/post surgery bra, phone, charger, headphones, book, dressing gown and slippers.
I had to take my clothes, shoes and coat off and they were put in a bag and tied up, I was not allowed to take anything out of that bag – it went home in the bag – I had to wear my dressing gown and slippers home because I wasn’t aware of that, but of course with covid, everything is a bit different at the moment!
I also plaited my hair before surgery and got myself a v pillow!
I would ask them with regards to a mask, I took one but they provided me with their own disposable mask and pen because there’s a lot of things to sign.
I would also get lots of button or zip clothing, makes life so much easier in the first few weeks!
    Hope that helps.
