I’m purely writing this because I did get a few mixed messages from the forum and emails received etc staying I should arrive with my chaperone on admission so I would like to clear it up for anyone else who is wondering the same. I arrived at Preston First Trust Hospital on 26th September 2018 with an admission time of 9am. I arrived alone, admitted myself, went in to surgery around 12:00 and was woke up at 12:55 ish. It was absolutely fine for me to go through this alone but you do NEED your chaperone there on discharge to collect you. I left at roughly 4:45 but before this I had tea and toast, 1 ibruprofen tablet, had been up out of bed and for a wee. I hope this helps someone 🙂

Do you know if you can take anyone in the room with you? My mums coming with me so I just wondered if she was allowed in with me or had to wait in another room?

Hi, I had my surgery 26th September also! Admission was 6:30 went down to surgery at 8:30 but different hospital! Same rules also, was optional for chaperone to be with me on admission but someone needed to pick me up on discharge. I had a pal cone with me on admission until surgery then they came back after surgery when was back in room. Hope you’ve had an easy recovery! Xx
