    Hi ladies,

Seems like a ridiculous question, but if there’s is something to worry about, I will find it!

I have just had my admission time through for my my op at Preston (8am). It says on the email:

‘There is dedicated waiting area for chaperones. They are more than welcome to bring along magazines, an iPad, or anything to keep them occupied during this time. Although food should not be brought into the hospital.’

Now, my partner is constantly hungry (and never gains weight – sigh!) but I know that if we are delayed or have a significant wait, he will be starving! Is there somewhere to purchase food AT the hospital, if you can’t bring it in? I’m also SURE I’ve heard about girls bringing snacks?

Also, I’ve noticed girls mentioning that they are given toast after their op. I am intolerant to gluten, and really don’t want to agitate my tummy any further (with the bloat I’m expecting on top!) so I was hoping my bf could in bring something more suitable for me to have after – apparently not?

Any comments at all would be so much appreciated.
    Xxxxx

Hiya, my mum came with me on the day and she said she went off and was able to get food, she said she had jacket potato with cheese and beans and I can’t remember the exact price but it was about £2.50, I remember because I was dreading her having to pay for expensive food haha. Also when they ask what you want from the menu, they ask if you have any special dietary requirements so I’m sure they’ll have something to support your needs, maybe call up and ask in case to see if you need to bring your own. Good luck with your op!xxx

I’m vegan and they made sure they had soya margarine in for me to put on my toast! They even put it in a specially marked container. They are so accommodating so don’t worry, you will be very well looked after xxx

Make sure at your pre op you let them know your intolerances! I can’t have gluten either and it was written on my bedside board with my name on and when I woke up they said they had gluten free bread for me 🙂 xx
