Recovery and painkillers!

Hi all so I’m just in the process of booking my surgery and I have a few questions I hope someone can help me answer to do with the post op recovery. What painkillers and other medications are you sent home with? And also how long did people take off work? I have a pretty low pain tolerance I’m abit of a whimp!! Think I am having overs though so have heard that the recovery for this is slightly easier than unders??? Also if anyone has any experiences with Mr Giannas I’d love to hear about them!! Thanks I’m advance!

I had my op last Saturday and I am off work until next Tuesday. So 11 days only. I’m still quite sore but generally have been coping on just paracetamol since having my op. I was sent home with dihydrocodiene but this makes me really sleepy so I’ve only taken this the once. I had 500cc overs. Hope this helps xx

Hi 🙂 i was good without painkillers aftwr day 7 or 8 and only took the odd one then. I had 2 weeks off work and went back after but my job is desk based to not much movement. I’d say have 2 weeks at least
Or more depending on your job. Two weeks is ok but you’ll still be tender.

Hi Grace, I had my surgery with Dr Gianni on the 6th Sept. He’s an amazing surgeon and I trust him 100%. I was sent home with 5 days of antibiotics, muscle relaxants and co-dryramol for pain relief. Kept on top of the meds for the first few days now I’m starting to feel ok. I’ve taken 2 weeks off as I’m having unders, Dr Gianni advises 1 week for overs or 2 weeks for unders. Good luck xx
