    Hi all,
I had surgery on Sunday 30/5
560cc ultra high profile under muscle implants.
On day one I was in a bit of pain and alot of swelling by the end of the day,
Day 2 i was so swollen practically up to my collar bone and was in real discomfort, my back was aching and I just felt rubbish all day.
Today I’ve woke up and I think the numbing where the wound is (under ) is wearing off its a little sore and I feel really tight in my macom bra, I’ve had to wear a strap and it’s so painful I contacted my nurse yesterday as I was ready to take it off and deal with the Consequences it was unbearable, anyway with a good conversation she’s said put some cotton wool wear the strap is hurting so I’ve tried that its a little better but my new boobs are that big and swollen the velcro on it just bearly laps over to fasten, anyway I’ve ordered a new bra with a strap already attached its coming today I’m just praying it’s going to make me feel so much better, I really just wanted to get an idea of the recovery times for this early on when will this pain ease so I can get out of this chair and just be able to go and sit in my garden without feeling so rubbish, go and make myself a brew without the pain in my chest and back that dull I barley can do anything 😭, honestly I’m never like this I’m rarely unwell I’m not one to moan, I had a small op a couple of years ago ( sterilisation ) I was back in work 2 days later stitches and all I have a demanding job ( home healthcare ) I just can’t believe how much this procedure has floored me don’t get me wrong I absolutely knew this was going to be a big deal and the recovery was going to be a long road but I can’t actually believe how much pain I’m in, please somebody tell me it’s about to get better I can’t cope x

Sorry to hear youve been struggling. It is a hard recovery I felt ok(ish) after a week. I found the pain moderate but daily activities the hardest. Main thing is to take time to recover, which does sound hard but rest will help you heal.

Hope your feeling a bit better ❤️

    Hi Cheryl,
Sorry to hear that you have been feeling so rubbish. Have you been taking your painkillers (sorry if that sounds like an obvious question)? I had my op on 24th May (I had under the muscle too) and took my painkillers the evening of the op and then for the first two days after my op, the third day I only took one lot and stopped after that because I found that I wasn’t really in that much pain (just more tight and uncomfortable) and they were actually making me constipated. I have a breast band too and have cut the ends off of some fluffy socks and fed that over it and have found that it does help a bit, I won’t be sorry to see the back of it though! I’m seeing the nurse tomorrow and I’m hoping she’s going to tell me that I’ve had it on too tight! I hope you feel better soon. xx

Hey Cheryl I had 400C Unders ultra high profile last week on 26th I am in a compression bandage with a band on top, and I completely understand where you are at! The first 3-5 days for me were the same VERY uncomfortable and quite a bit of pain. And the swelling gets out of hand. I’ll be honest once I hit day 7 things improved I’m still in the bandage and band, but I can move better and drove for the first time yesterday and was fine sounds like you’ve had a really similar experience to me. I also work in healthcare and took a week off thinking I’d be golden. but I really do think being put in a band increased pain for sure! I know everyone’s different but I think having that constant pressure on bruised / swollen boobs does affect the pain.
I have a pregnancy pillow which helps me with sleep. And I do change the tightness of the band every now and again. Obviously go on your nurses advice. Hope you feel better soon

Thankyou, Charlotte, Claire and Eleanor for your reply and reassurance, I’m taking my pain medication Still and regularly it has eased slightly but I’m still in so much discomfort, I constantly feel sick and I’m struggling to eat properly, I have 3 different surgical bras 2 straps plus 1 bra has a strap attached and not a single one is any better then the other, I’ve put panty liners 😂 across the top of my breast hoping it would cushion the strap but no it done nothing, I’m not back for my first check up until this Tuesday, I’m 7 days post op tomorrow and feel its never going to get better, I honestly would have never put myself through this if I knew what to expect, my boobs feel like rocks being pushed into my chest, the swelling is still quiet high but it has gone Down slightly since day 1, can I ask is it normal to still be numb I can’t feel anything touch wise from my nipple downwards ? I hope your appointment with the nurse went good and you are all doing well ❤ xx

    Hi Cheryl,

I’m glad to hear that things have improved a little, just try and think of the bigger picture, soon all of this pain and discomfort will pass and you will have nice new boobs and it will have all been worth it. The sickness may be caused by the painkillers, what ones are you taking? Also general anaesthetic messes with your digestive system, I felt a bit queasy the first few days but that has passed now but I still have bloating (I look like I’m pregnant) and my stomach makes some really loud grumbling noises, I have tried pepmpermint tea, drinking lots of water is good too. Remember also that it is still early days and it won’t last forever, hopefully you will feel a bit better each day. Have you got any fluffy socks that you could cut the end off of to put on the breast band? I have found that has helped a bit, the nurse loosened it a bit the other day but it’s still not the most comfortable thing, it is bearable though. I’ve only got to wear it for 2 more days, my surgeon only advised 2 weeks, how long do you have to keep yours on for? Yes it is totally normal to still feel numb, I’m still numb too, I read that this in my notes ‘it is not uncommon for people to have numbness and altered sensation around the surgical site for some time after the operation. This will normally subside in time, but a small number of people continue to have a small area of numbness indefinitely. Some patietnts experience altered tenderness and sensitivity around the areolas and nipples, this usually dissipates over time’. I’m well aware that I may lose sensitivity in my nipples but feel that this is a small price to pay! I hope this helps, take care and I hope you feel better soon. xx

Hey, I was the same and thought the pain was never going to end, I came off my pain killers day 5 as my whole body was bloated and swollen and that seemed to help slightly, I just took my muscle relaxers at night. The nurse told me your allowed short breaks from your strap, also going and sitting in a shallow bath relaxed me a lot. I’m now on day 7 and each day gets a little easier.

Hi all, I’m so sorry I haven’t replied for a while, I’ve been so down and just literally shut myself off, I’m now 25 days post op and I’m feeling sooooo much better the pain is practically gone, I just feel really tender at the moment but that’s not bothering me at all, I’m still numb from nipple downwards, there still looking high in my chest I was hoping this would have gone by now ? Not sure when they should start to drop more, I’ve had to stop wearing my post op bras they all seem to be to tight and I feel I’m being squashed its to uncomfortable so I’m just wearing non wired sports type bras, but saying that I bought 38DD size and there getting tight ! , can I ask when they should start to soften and shape more because I don’t really like them yet, Claire G thankyou so much for your advice it really ment alot x, Danielle can I ask what muscle relaxants you used I didn’t know I could take them x, Hannah I promise it does get better but it feels like a life time hitting the 3wk mark, on week 2 I started having really painful muscle cramps so just be really careful when you start doing more, honestly I only walked around asda and the pain amd cramps in my boobs just was awful so be careful but hang on in there you will be absolutely fine x , love to you all xx

Hello, I’m 4dpo. I had 300cc high profile over muscle and a lift. Day 1 I was just a bit sore and tight, day 2 I had no sleep the night before and felt so sore I was taking codeine every 4 hours and still couldn’t sleep, day 3 I was really starting to regret having them done just because of the pain and it was even hurting to breathe I basically just spent the day crying, last night I actually managed to get a decent sleep and today I feel like a different person! I’m still sore and tight but it’s no where near as intense! I’ve read loads that days 2 & 3 are the worst x
