Just wondering if anyone works in Central London and had trouble going back to work with commuting/changing tubes etc with all the walking?

I had my op on the 10th and was due back to work on the 18th, I think I had a fairly easy recovery before then and I felt way better by the 17th and was up and about by then so thought I’d be fine with work just expected to be tired… but I had a nightmare day, halfway to work I was already in a lot of pain from walking and it didn’t let up all day, it was pretty much the worse pain I’d had since the op! I ended up taking the next two days off and it took that long to feel back to how I was pre going to work. I’m gonna try again tomorrow (will be 13 days post op) I’m just nervous now that I will struggle with the walking again and it feels like a massive step back!

I know most girls go back either 1 or 2 weeks after but wondering if it’s easier if you drive to work and don’t have to walk far? Any advice/your experiences would be great x

Take it as easy as you can & just make sure you’ve got extra time to walk slowly between trains x

Hi hun, I’m planning to drive to work after I get my surgery, as I’m scared of using the train.

Perhaps getting bus into work may be easier for you? Or leaving earlier and have more time to slowly get to work then rushing. Cause central is hectic in the morning and evening. X

Thanks girls, I’m gonna go in earlier tomorrow and hopefully I’m a bit stronger now for the walking! Think it just shocked me as I’d been moving around with minimal pain beforehand so I thought I’d be fine if I took it slow but obviously not! Thanks x
