When did people get told you can sleep on your side? Im 4wpo and still sleeping at a 45 degree angle because ive never been able to lie on my back as its too uncomfortable on my spine. i just cant wait to be able to curl up on my side!

I’m struggling with sleeping on my back! I’m 3weeks post op so been on my back sleeping for a week now and every morning I’m waking up with horrible back ache! I thought it was ease or stop once I got used to being on my back but it’s not.., 3 more weeks to go and that’s only if they give me the all clear to sleep on my side! The run up to my op time went so fast but now I’m waiting for my 6week appointment it’s dragging lol! Xx

I was 4 weeks PO on Thursday. For the past 2 nights I keep waking up through the night on my side…so annoying haha. I haven’t found it hard to sleep on my back- because I usually do anyway. But past few days my body wants to be on its side. I’ve been told to wait until 6 weeks though x

@staceymlx theres nothing worse than being hungover and not being able to curl up hahahah.

thats why im still sleeping propped up as ive never had any back ache that way. Tried last night to sleep lower but woke up with my back hurting.

Think i will just continue to sleep propped up for another 2 weeks!

Ive been lying on my side for about 2 weeks now and I’m nearly 5 weeks post op. My nurse didn’t tell me I had to wait untill a certain time but it was just when I felt comfortable to do so. I’ve had no problems or pain when doing so, it’s just instinct to turn over but I’ve had no problems at all, it was the most amazing feeling the first night of laying on my side? My back was worse than my boobs having to lay on my back!! One thing I do miss is being able to lay on my front with my leg to the side 🙁 xx
