Smooth vs Textured Implants – Please HELP!

Hi ladies,

What implants did you go for? Smooth or Textured? I have been recommended to go under the muscle and we are looking at 400cc HP, cohesive gel Mentor implants. My stats are 5’5 and 61kg.

Hi I had surgery on the 11th and went for textured- I weighed up the slight risk of the rare cancer that can be increased with textured against the risk of capsular contracture that is more likely in smooth. The reports on risks with textured implants was soooo small I decided they were better for me. My surgeon told me they won’t look any different whichever I went for.

I have my surgery booked for 20th may- not with mya though. Going for 300cc high profile round implants, my surgeon only goes for smooth implants, I’ve heard that textured implants can cause capsuler contracture around the implant, probaly would recommend the smooth implants, but don’t quote me! X

Smooth implants have a higher risk of capsular contracture than textured implants, textured implants have a very small risk of a certain type of cancer, but it’s an incredibly small risk like 1 in something like 85,000.
Whichever you choose will be right for you but make sure you do your research ☺️ I’m personally going with textured!
