Hi ladies i am having recision surgery next month to alter my pockets but im having my implants changed at the same time. I have textured implants at the moment but my surgeon says the new ones will be smooth. The outer shell is softer so apparently doesnt ripple as easily an at the moment i am getting some rippling with the textured. As anyone had both by any chance? Would be interested to know if they had less rippling with the smooth xx

Actually what i read is that textured have less chance of riplling and lower risks of cc, would be interested to know the answer as well.

I know they was created to give a lower risk of cc but thats hasnt acutally been proven since they have started using the textured there is just as many cases of cc in both.

He gave me a textured and smooth to compare an held them in the position they would be in if we were upright an there wer alot more ridges in the textured implant because the shell is thicker but still would like to see other peoples opinions. I supose rippling will be in both for some people regardless of which type. Also going from cohesive 2 to cohisive 1. Cohesive 1 being the softest available so not sure what differences i will feel.

I know textured are a little bit firmer than smooth. However you can’t really notice that difference especially if you’re going under the muscle because either way the implant is covered by your own breast tissue and muscle

This is worth a read if you want to consider the disadvantages of textured.

You don’t have to massage textured ones that was a big plus for me. But I’ve friends with both and tbf you can’t tell one from
The other so I’d just go with what your surgeon advises if you’re confident in his judgement x

@lauraj1987 · hi Hun Did your surgeon agree to the bigger implant? And also- what’s his plan to ‘fix’ you ? X

Just the 500cc that we had spoke about last time he didnt want to go up anymore so was slightly gutted but to be honest i probs would of only gone 550 even had i been alowed so wouldnt have been going huge anyway. Well on my 1st surgery he lowered my right crease so he was going to lower the left to match up but wjen i saw him this week he says he will put the right on back up but stupidly i didnt ask much about it! Will see him agaim at pre op on 21st of this month so iv wrote down some questions so i dont forget to ask again. Could kick myself when i come out an a load of questions pop into my head lol x
