ok so i’m all done! No sports bra or bra for 6 weeks was what i was told over and over again in there i’m afraid to tell you girls!! I have bought loads of vesty tops to wear under my clothes so hoping that there is no nipple incidents at work lol!! ((rosie)) i ended up getting 340cc under muscle too so i’m not sure why were told different, i havent tried a bra on but i feel quite comfy without one in my vest top. Why dont you ask the nurse or your co ord at mya if you can take it off at night sometimes? it would do my head in too!!xxx

if mr traynor tells me not to wear a sports bra at all…then that might cause a slight problem when it comes to going out in public! everyone will be staring at my nipples! lol! i dont really want to have to wear a baggy jumper for 6 weeks!

    Hey all,
Rosie Im confused by that too! I always thought that you had to wear a sports bra all the time after the op to stop them moving around and being painful. I questioned my co- cord and she said that it is a relatively new idea that some surgeons prefer their patients to not wear a sports bra AT ALL for 6 weeks! The surgeon said that in his experience he has had more problems with the scar healing in woman that do wear bra’s and that it takes longer to achieve the end result with one on!
Its gonna feel strange though going to work with no Bra on!
My BA is today and i leave in about 30mins to get to the hospital…i’m getting nervous now!!! It’s crazy to think that my next comment will be when i’ve got Boobs!! I’ll let you know

Hi kirstie, yeah I took mine off early too.. by the time it got to my appointment it would have been 10 days post op and the tape was driving me mad. I have to say though I found that the most painful part of the whole experience haha! Its sooo sticky! xx

PS Bec86 – i had exactly the same as you, used to be a 32a and had 340cc unders 2 weeks ago, but i’ve been told to wear a sports bra alll the time daytime and thru the night…its driving me up the wall and they already feel quite high so i’d rather just leave them to drop! I dont understand why some people are told they dont have to and some are told its essential…very confused now!

    Hi
I’m also having my BA with Mr Traynor on the 1st of july…Thats just 2 days away!!! He has advised me that I should not wear a sports bra for 6 weeks to allow the implants to drop into the correct position without being restricted by a bra. I am 32a and will be having 340cc under the muscle implants. My co-ordinator had her BA done just 5 weeks ago, is similar sizes to me, and says that she only wears a sports bra to bed as she feels that they are safer! They both recommended to just wear vest tops under my clothing for the first 6 weeks. I think it just depends how it feels to the individual but i intend to go with their advice!! I’ll let you know tho! x

    Hi Kirstie,

My one week post op was only with the nurse to take the plaster strips off and then she put what was like a thin string of tape that i could take off 4days after.

    Wow..so confusing,
Just to add somthing else into the mix, the nurse from MYA rang me to day to check up and see how i was getting on. I advised the foam tape was really itching and she said that I could take it off myself tomorrow. She did advise though that i had to keep my sports bra on at all times, maybe allowing half an hour rest time here and there. I am due for the one week check up on Friday with Dr Singh. Has anyone else taken their tape off before the post op visit?

    Hiya Girls

im 5 days post op and wore a sports bra to come home in and thats it…..I had Mr Adamo and he said i could wear 1 if i wanted but he suggested not to…he said he had more problems with girls that wore bras then the actual op itself, also he said as i wasnt that big it would be better for the implants to drop into place themselve….i think its best just to listen to your surgeon, i havnt worn mine and they have dropped from my chin to a nice position now, i may wear 1 when i got back to work as you cannot wear a underwired bra for least 6 weeks but other then that im not wrrying xx

    Hi There,
I have just had my op with Dr Singh and I was also not advised really to wear a sports bra. I bought a shock absorber and before i left the hospital i put it on to go home. The next day i took it off as i felt the the band was rubbing on my incision scars. I have put it back on today but i think that with the tape used to hold everything inplace after surgery, perhaps it is not essential to wear a bra immediately after surgery; unless the implants are quite large then extra support may be needed. Prob best to ask your Surgeon..and please share the response as i would love to take and keep mine off, but like most evryone else there is a belief that it needs to stay on 24/7.

When you wake up you will most likely have dresses on the insisions so the bra may not fit. I’ve heard some surgeons like to let the implants drop without being restricted by a tight bra aswell.

im a 34a now having 380cc or 410cc overs. so that’ll take me to a c- cup at the smallest, i would have thought id still need it for support? weird :S

perhaps your implants/boobs wont b big enough to need it? …thats the only thing i can think of.
