Can anyone tell me if I have to wait for my post op appt before the strapping comes off? I’m soooooo itchy it’s doing my head in.

Yes you do. Did you have mr Traynor?

I was given a breast band to wear over the bra, it feels like I have an elephant sat on my chest. Is this what you have or do you have like bandage strapping??

Yes I had Mr Traynor and no, no breast band, just sticky bandage straps underneath my boobs.

The itching has stopped now for the most part.

The strapping is unique to Traynor and it does become very uncomfortable- mine yanked on my stitches but it eased as the stitches dissolved. He uses it to avoid needing a breast band and to help the implants keep shape.

Oh right, that’s interesting. Well, I have my post op appointment today so it will finally come off. I’m a bit nervous to see what’s going on underneath. So they have to remove any stitches or are they all dissolvable? I thought only the internal ones dissolved.
Also, the sensation is returning to my nipples and oh my god it’s horrendous! Like the painful bit of pins and needles. They are sooo sensitive now, any change in temperature and they are on end and it feels horrible. I’ve had to loosen my macom just to relieve the constant pressure on them. Did you get this Natasha?

That’s good. I have my 6 week appointment tonight. Hopefully it went well for you today. Yeah the nipple pain is real! I had to take my bra off to give them a break. Mine are still sensitive to touch but are fine in bras now

How was your 6 week check hun? I can’t believe you’re 6 weeks post already! It’s gone really fast! Do they feel like part of you yet?
So glad the strapping is off, although I still have steri strips for a few more days. I’m so excited to take them off on Saturday.
How long are you having to wear your surgical bra for? I was told 8 weeks rather than 6, I assume because I have overs and it gives them extra support.

It was fine, apparently they’re still really firm so they’ve got some softening up to do. Got the all clear for everything but she still advises against exercise and told me not to get carried away bra shopping as they will probably change again.

I’m still wearing my surgical bras and m&s as I feel like they’re supported the most in them. I’m going shopping at the weekend but can’t see me changing out of them at night
