Girls anyone had surgery whilst on the sayana press injection? I forgot to mention this in my consultation and not sure if it affects surgery or not? I’ve heard you need to stop the pill beforehand. Anyone know anything about this?

At my pre opp I was told to stop the pill 2-4 weeks beforehand can’t remember exactly just as it can affect ur risk of blood clots but then again I’ve also known people who haven’t been told to stop it. Best bet is to ask ur nurse/PC for ur individual advice x

I had surgery on 16th March and wasn’t told to stop my pill. I just had to wear the ted stockings provided to reduce risk of blood clots whilst limited movement x

I have surgery in two weeks and I got told to stop taking the pill four weeks before hand. If it’s a combined pill then you have to come off it but if it doesn’t contain oestrogen then you can continue taking it. That’s what the nurse said at my pre op, hope that’s helped xx

Hi I’m wondering if anyone can help. I’ve got the implant. will that make a difference? I’ve seen that some people are having to stop taking the pill but as this is already in my arm I was wondering if this would affect anything? Thanks x
