Hi girls, I have my surgery on the 24th of this month!! My boyfriend is coming with me & will be staying in a hotel next to the hospital, are they aloud to be there the full time & how late are they aloud to stay?

My partner was allowed to stay with me most of the time, when they took me down for surgery they showed him back to the waiting room where there is a coffee machine ect. Then he was called straight back up as soon as id come back around. This time will vary for everyone. I went down to surgery at about 10.45 and he was called back in at 1pm so a couple of hours for me. I shared a room with another Mya patient and we were both allowed our partners with us when we were in the room (curtains pulled)
My advice is to either bring food for him ( I know they say not to but it is a long day and there is literally nothing but chocolate bars on offer for them).

Pretty much what Cassie said, your partner will be asked to leave a shared room whilst you are not in there. Make sure he brings things for entertainment and food, I know one girls partner got himself a MacDonalds. I was a day patient however and my partner and I left at about 9pm so can’t say about overnight stays. If it’s a private room and you buddy up to your nurse, hopefully they will let them stay later but to be honest with you, post op you’ll probably just want to sleep quite a bit anyway so I wouldn’t worry too much about it xx
