    Hey girls
I am now 3 days post op and the swelling is not subsiding 🙁 I now have swelling in between my boobs which is really freaking me out – why does this happen and when will it go down.
Does anyone have any tips for swelling ? It’s making me feel so down I want to be able to do normal things but everytime I move they swell up again!
The hospital said it’s all normal – wish I could fast forward a couple of weeks lol.

I think they are a fab size!! They will change so much try not to get too down and I know that’s easier said than done I’ve been there so have many others! Day 3 was a struggle by day 5 I was noticing a massive difference with less tightness and more mobility and was able to move around and feel much better about life in general lol congrats on surgery though I think they’re gonna be amazing!! Every person’s body is different – they say that swelling can even last up to three weeks in the absolute worst case but I think it should usually subside within the first one to two weeks. My post surgery bra was very tight with the swelling immediately afterwards, but by the time I had reached two weeks post op, it was a completely normal fit on me again. Don’t worry too much about it. Your body has been through a trauma and needs a little time to recover. It’s normal. The wait is worth it, I promise! Some girls like to apply ice to their swelling, if you want to do this you can use an ice pack wrapped in a towel and gently apply over the swelling for no more than ten minutes at a time three or four times per day.

I had really bad swelling in between my boobs too, actually worse than yours. It looked like I had one boob for the first wee while. I just applied ice now and again and just kept an eye on it. Mention it at your check ups but it looks completely normal xxx

Nikki I don’t know how you’re coping with pain but I use reusable gel packs over and under my boobs. Swelling doesn’t dissappear completely but it helps and it’s great for pain! Xx

I’m 1 wk in post op. I’m still pretty swelled on both breasts still, been told should notice it looking more natural after 6wks. I’m so impatient & want to heel straight away but time time time I keep hearing. I can’t wait to have a decent sleep. Does anyone else have the same problem with lack of sleep due to being more upright.

Hi @Sarah ! I know everybody’s different, but I was told at my 1wpo appointment that I could stop sleeping elevated and sleep just flat on my back and, as soon as I felt comfortable, I could start sleeping on my side again.
If you can’t sleep flat yet, I’d deffos recommend a V pillow/maternity pillow, they helped me sooo much!!!

I have a huge pressure mark on the bottom of my spine from lying in these weird positions and was awake at 2:50am this morning from how uncomfortable it is. Best advice is a pillow under your bum – it’s the only relief I’ve had, and even then sometimes it’s not enough. I was told to sleep upright until 4 weeks and on my back until 6 weeks.
