    Hi girls,

I’m new to this but I must say how amazing this forum seems!

I’ve got 1000 questions but have my initial consultation in Manchester on 8th September so will get a chance then to ask everything, but I’m just wondering what the time scales have been like for you from your consultation to surgery? Also how many consultations you have with the surgeon before your op and how easy it is to get your preferred dates for them and your op?

I’m a school teacher so although I have some pretty amazing holidays, I’m not allowed to take any time off during term time and am concerned the process for me is going to be super long!

    Thanks x

Hi I work in educational travel and arrange school trips so I also have most of the school hols off too and had my op in August.. I wasn’t in any pain at all.. recommend two weeks off so maybe you could work it over Xmas? I didn’t go with mya but I enquired in Feb for August op.. I think it depends on which surgeon you want really regarding availability x

Hi Kerrie, thanks for your reply 🙂
That’s good to hear about the pain! Yeah I was thinking about Xmas time as that’s always a lazy time anyway. Probably will depend on surgeon availability yeah…. but I’m impatient! Haha, want new boobies now! X

Hi, I’m also a primary school teacher. I wanted mine In the 6 week hols but as I was flying on holiday at the end I was unable to. Therefore I had my first app on 2nd July and my surgery is 19th October as then I have a week off for half term.

Hi I’m a teacher too, I had my first consultation in January but wanted to have the op in summer which meant I had to wait for dates to come available but I got the first Tuesday of the summer hols for my op. You can fly short haul after 4 weeks but still have to wear a sports bra so it rules out having a sunbathing type holiday. I waited quite a long time so could have it done in the summer but I think for me that was the best thing to do 🙂

@amyhope Hey Amy, try your best to arrange 2 weeks off of you can. I had my surgery booked in Feb for this past July & saw my surgeon only once prior to surgery but I knew what I wanted & felt very comfortable that my surgeon was on top of it … I’ve read a few times on here of people seeing their surgeons a couple times to make final decisions on sizes etc so it really depends. I had seen a few surgeons elsewhere before going with Mya so I already knew quite a bit

    Thank you ladies 🙂
Flying and sunbathing hadn’t even crossed my mind! Not sure I could miss out on a summer holiday 🙁
I’m thinking it may have to be around February or Easter for me then. Most likely Easter with the two weeks. Seems like such a long time off but I know patience is key with the whole process.
I think I actually need to start back at work just to take my mind off this, ive literally obsessed over boobie research most of my summer haha x
