Hi all, posted in a few forums now and not got much response so hoping for some good advice here
I’ve my reduction and uplift booked for the 19th of January. I cannot wait. What are your top tips for traveling home after the op? Washing your hair? Coping with pain and when did life start to feel normal for you? & bras what size do I get for after surgery. Can’t wait for to have a normal looking silhouette when I put my coat on x

Recovery bra, I recommend a MACOM. They’re ideal because you don’t really know what to expect with swelling etc… and they mould your shape.
Hair washing – I begged my fiance for four days to wash my hair over the bath and we had to be so careful. I recommend a good dry shampoo.
It took about 2 weeks for the majority of my discomfort to go. I was in pain the first two days but after that it was more of a discomfort that I controlled with painkillers.
My travelling home, I went in a taxi from London to Birmingham, because I obviously had to have a seatbelt, I had a pillow between my breasts and the seatbelt so there was no pressure.

    Good luck!

    Hi Amy!
Good luck with everything, my one tip is to KEEP STILL! haha I was all over the place wriggling about just after the procedure, i was lulled in to a false sense of security with the painkillers.
Washing hair is manageable after about 7 days from memory but as Zoe says a good dry shampoo will do you. The codeine pain killers may “bung you up” so to speak, I made a fig and date smoothie that sorted me right out each day!
Take a pillow for the drive home, you’ll be so careful/paranoid anyway I wouldn’t worry :o)
get yourself a triangular pillow to help you doze sitting up slightly, the first 2 days this can be tricky but as you’re in bed all day enjoy the rest. Hopefully you’ll have someone around to help you out, they need to be understanding that you cant move. If you have kids I’d get someone to look after them for a few days so you can avoid having to lift them.
If you need anymore chats just let me know :o)
