Hi all – has any body had their incision point under the arm, and if so do you have scar pix?

I don’t see it very often at all!
It has a higher rate of infection and also poor pocket precision as it’s harder for the surgeons to create them, although some specialise in those incisions s must be good!
All I can contribute, when I had my BA inframmary incision, I had a mole removed from my underarm with one stitch, and the dressing on my underarm bothered me the most as I couldnt wash it (whilst I could sit in the bath to wash the rest of me) so one armpit gets stinky and hairy, so gross!

I’m sure it has its positives though, hopefully someone will be along to share their experience!

Thank you, I’m hoping so! I have a surgeon who only does these incisions as he believes it has the smallest rate of capsular contraction, or something like that. He’s been doing it for 30-some odd years so I trust him but don’t know much about the experience!

    HI Mary,
I was looking in to this but couldn’t find any surgeons that do this kind of incision or anyonr that’s had them, you don’t see it very often! I’d be super interested to see how your results and recovery are if you go ahead? 🙂 What’s you surgeons name? Xx

@emily I’m in the US so my surgeons name might not be a big help to you unless you are too! I’ve attached my results 1 day post opp if you want to see. Scars still have stitches obviously haha but I can send you those as they progress if you are interested

@mary5309 They look amazing for only one day post op! You must be so happy with your results so far!
How big are your incisions? I’d love to see your progress 🙂 x

@Emily this is scarring day 2 postop. Still swollen and a little bruised but the end goal is for it to look like a natural skin fold
