Travelling Abroad after surgery.

Hi all.
I’m due to have my op on October 9th (350cc unders, so excited!!!) and die to holiday work etc, me and my partner have booked to go abroad in November.

Now I’ve read up a little about travelling post op and made sure it’s only a short haul flight. And again I know not to get the wounds wet and to keep them out of the sun.

Just wondering if anyone else travelled soon after their op and if they can recommend any tips or sort of things to pack.

I know it’s soon after the op but I’ve desperately needed a break for ages and was the only time I could get

I think it’s fine after 6 weeks for short haul.
Only tip I can think is to make sure your incisions aren’t exposed to the sun. Not sure about public swimming pools? Xx

How many weeks post op will you be? I am going to lanzarote and I will be just under 5 weeks post op. You’ll need to put high factor on your boobs and not expose the incisions to the sun and not allowed in swimming pool until after 6 weeks. I will be wearing my post op bra at night and as much as possible and have found some supportive sports bra type bikinis to wear. I’m just going to stay out of the pool. Xx

@Slpl502 I’ll be just over 5 weeks. Yeah my thought was a get a supportive sports kinda bikini and maybe can vet them when in the sun. Yeah same. I’d rather not chance the water. Might paddle my feet but that will be it for me! XX

You can fly 4 weeks post op short haul, but must keep your scars covered x

I spoke to the nurse about this the other day as I’m cabin crew, I’m post op now. You can fly for 4 weeks after short haul & 6 weeks for long haul. Xx

I’m flying to Spain 4 weeks after my BA. I’m 2 weeks post op and they feel good. I’m just scared incase I get an infection ☹️ I’ve got anxiety about it ???? x

@hfox I’m sure you’ll be fine Hun, I’d advise just staying away from the swimming pool and sea. Unless going in only waist deep xx
