Had my op yesterday had 375 hp unders.
Jesus it’s 5.30am, I have literally been awake every hour. Doze off wake up…. doze off wake up.
I’m advised to sleep at an angle, worried maybe the angle is too high? Are you supposed to be nearly sat up or more led back?!?
Chest area feels really tight and hard. Feel like I can’t straighten my back when I’m stood either?!?
Was surprised to only be given paracetamol and ibuprofen after surgery. So just took some.
    Any advice at this stage?!
    Thanks xxx

Everything you describe is completely natural Hun. First few nights I had rubbish sleep as was waking every hours. I was also walking hunched over for like a week, but you gradually get used to them.

I only had paracetamol and ibuprofen. Normally they give codeine instead of ibuprofen but I’m allergic so had ibuprofen. Just make sure you space the dose of each.

You sleep at a 45 degree angle, so bit more led back than sat up at 90 xx

@hannah thank you I think maybe that’s where I went wrong last night and had it set up too high!!
I was obviously expecting pain and discomfort, just think I was hoping I’d be a lucky one and not have much lol

Yes Normal the first week is dreadful and the second not as bad but still horrible. Don’t forget to walk every hour and his really helps the swelling go down which relieves a bit of pain and tightness. I only had paracetamol and ibuprofen too. Happy healing just remember in four weeks yourl feel much better .. x

Hmmm do yo think I should check this as well @mitch ?? Tbh now that it’s lower it is actually comfy!
Oo I get mine off at 1. I also double checked abou the bra situation. The nurse said the post op one from matalan is fine, just To make sure it’s tight on the straps but not too tight in between them. I will probably still get the maximum support one as welll to switch between fo day and night.

As soon as they reply I will tell you what they said and if you do the same we can compare lol, ohhh and I got both them bra’s from matalan he said white 1 to me but said the black 1 was OK to, I’m glad it’s more comfortable for you now hunni xx

    +1

I’m day 10 post op and only just starting to feel normal again. Have more of a pulled muscle discomfort now rather than pain but the first week is really rough. Just rest lots and take gentle walks to help with swelling xx

Hi. I had my op yesterday and i am in severe agony right now , no exaggeration! i have broken bones etc and never felt pain like this as its so constant. I am so hunched over and feel like a bettle stuck on my back unable to even sit myself up! Cant move my arms at all! yes like you i thought i’d be one of the lucky “slight discomfort” girls… unfortantly not! My advice is just rest and think of the end goal!!! Its gonna be worth it in the end! x

@milly is it actually pain your feeling? Mine is more like discomfort and stiffness. Sitting up from being like led down is the worst!! I literally have to give myself a prep talk like come on you can do it and like count myself down!! Hahah
My aim is to rest as much as possible in bed etc. Walk around the garden few times a day and keep up to date with pain killers etc
Just hope it is worth it and I like them!!!! 😮 xx

@mae, it is mostly stiffness and discomfort however I keep getting shooting pains and stining sensations which actually bring me to tears. If I try and move and get myself up these are worse. Maybe its the strapping but i feel a massive tight lump in my chest and it makes me feel like i cant breath and then i panic more!
And yes haha have to proper engage my core and then when i shuffle back I have to do a bum wiggle lol.
Yes from tommorow im going to try and walk around the house and stuff a bit! hope you like yours, me too, keep us updated x
