Hi ladies, I’ve got my surgery booked on the 23rd December and I’m planning on wearing a vest (that I can step in to), a zip up hoodie and jeans/leggings for leaving the hospital but what did everyone wear for the first 2 weeks post op? Other than Sports bra.

My surgeon wants me to wear a great band for 4 weeks too, has anyone else had this and is it obvious under clothes?

    Thanks x

I had to wear a band for 4 weeks too, isn’t obvious at all under clothes i wore mine under my work top etc. Just abit uncomfortable haha,
I wore little pyjama shorts and a button up top but obviously being over Christmas as long as the top doesn’t go over your head, anything else should be fine x

Hi Sophie, I think the main rule is to go for comfort lol. I left the hospital in joggers, strappy vest and zip up hoodie. All super comfortable and easy to get on. Then basically lived in similar comfies the next couple of weeks.
I have a breast band too. I have been advised to wear mine for 6 weeks. At first I thought it would be an absolute nightmare with clothes etc but I wear mine to work under my clothes and no one has noticed. Not that they’ve said anyways. I didn’t tell work that I was having a BA though.
I think it’s better to be recovering in the colder months as you can layer up on clothes and when you’re out and about can easily disguise that you’re wearing post op bras and breast band : ) You’ll have nothing to worry about I’m sure! X

    Thank you both so much!

I’m the same Kate I do t be telling my work so hoping it won’t be really obvious. That’s put my mind at ease a bit. Yeah you’re right I don’t know how girls do it in the summer! X
