Hi guys, today I’m 17 days PO, tried going back to work today and it was a big no no, have ended coming home early and I’m now in pain the same as I was 2 days PO. I only work part time but am having to take more time off to recover, just wanted to let you all know so this can be taken into account when you’re thinking about booking your time off 🙁 Happy healing! Xx

I’m a barista at costa hun! Our store is extremely busy, I thought I’d be fine just making drinks and avoiding heavy lifting but eveidently not 🙁 hopefully you’ll have more luck than me, I would recommend avoiding pushing and pulling movements as much as possible, I had unders and I’ve heard the healing process is longer and more painful but I’ve felt fine the past few days 🙁 xx

    Hey babe,
Sorry to hear your having trouble.
This is a question to anyone but what did you guys even tell your bosses?
Im thinking about booking an op date but I have no idea how I’d even bring it up to my awkward male middle aged boss lol.
    Thanks xx

I too have an awkward middle aged boss and I just told him I was having surgery. He asked me what for and I just said it was a “ladies operation” he didn’t ask anything else after that lol x

I told everyone at my work the other day, two days before I booked surgery. My op date is 17th July. My thinking was not to tell them but because of my uniform being a snug top or a tailored tunic (I work in an Opticians) my boyfriend thought they’d probably notice and it’d cause more gossip NOT telling my colleagues than if I said “look guys there’s this thing bothering me and I’m having it sorted ok?!”. Literally everybody reassured me they were behind me 100%, even the ones I thought wouldn’t get it. One of them i was worried about – a sort of prudish woman in her fifties said “go for it love, I had a tummy tuck once and it was the best thing I’ve done” – couldn’t have been more surprised! which was nice of them even though i don’t need their permission etc, i may well need to call on them to fetch something heavy from the top shelf etc or swap to lighter duties and would be helpful to have support instead of them thinking I’ve gone lazy lol.

As for my boss I went to my manager first and she went to him privately warning him I wanted to speak to him about this so it wouldn’t be so embarrassing for me (or a surprise for him) he couldn’t have been more supportive and now i don’t know why i was so worked up beforehand! Maybe it’s because he can be a bit laddish and i thought i might get teased or feel uncomfortable. I think everyone has something they’re not happy with and can understand the desire to feel confident about it.

Sorry for the long post, just saying that if its causing more stress or anxiety worrying what people would day if they suspected or whatever, test the water, you might be surprised as i was!

I told my boss too! I was so anxious about what to say and what they might say behind my back after so I just told everyone! Felt a weight lifted after.
I quite enjoyed the shock factor hahaha.
“Doing anything nice on your week off?”
“Yes, I’m having a boob job” brilliant! X

I feel exactly the same guys! I work in a hospital so worried about the whole telling people at work thing. I know its going to be hard for me to go back to work as I have to do a lot of manual labour but cant afford to have loads of time off 🙁 I haven’t even told my parents or many friends so god knows what all their reactions ate going to be. I know their going to notice obviously but I’m just scared of the stigma that comes with getting a b/a everyone thinks your going to end up looking like Katie price :’D

I think if your loved ones don’t understand then what are they even for?

I agree there’s a stigma but I think people need to move with the times. People think nothing of getting braces or wearing contact lenses for cosmetic reasons, dying hair or going to the gym to improve their shape. If we could get nice boobs by going to the gym we’d bloody live there lol
