    Hi Ladies!
I am currently 3 weeks post op and have taken off my second set of tapes. I have been advised to use the attached lotion from The Body Shop. Vitamin E cream hydrates the skin and moistures too. It’s not advised to use oil until about 6 weeks + after surgery. For the time being, use The Body Shop Vitamkm E cream which is only £8. My scars are practically invisible and using the cream makes them soooooo hydrated, smooth and fresh.
Good luck ladies and keep those scars and surrounding areas HYDRATED 100%!! Xx

I would highly recommend! Oil isn’t allow POST-op for about 6 weeks and my surgeon’s PA’s recommended this cream as they have all had BA and it’s FAB. So smooth on the skin and fragrance-free which is ideal. xx

Yeah 3 weeks once my steri-tapes were removed. Xx
I use them on incisions and all over and around my breasts. It’s good to massage the breast with too as it helps dropping.

@chelsea7 I started using vitamin E cream at around 3-4 weeks. I was advised not to use oils until after my January appointment so just cream for now as they can go a little dry and flakey whilst in the bra for too long. You may be experiencing spots on your chest too and this will reduce that. I would say you can start using cream now or in a week. No harm. They need to be hydrated xx

@Chelsea7 yes babe you can after 2 weeks. Taking antibiotics for the first week would have prevented all infections so another week after that you can use all over the chest, boobs and scars. It helps with spots on the chest also where the skin stretches. Good for massaging too as that helps the implants to drop 🙂
Try putting some of the middle finger and rub in ever so gently. I’m 9 weeks almost so I’m barely sensitive but you will be after 2 weeks.

I’ve been told not to put anything on them at all for 6 weeks. To the extent that I shouldn’t even allow shower gel/shampoo etc to run over my incisions in the shower. May be different for different people so I wouldn’t follow the advice of people on here – just you nurse!!

@emma2410 I was advised this and also my friend. Your boobs need to be kept hydrated. I was told OILS at 6 weeks but creams and lotions are fine. My surgeons PA’s have all said the same as they have had the procedure and recommended.
I’m not a MYA patient so yes everyone is different but 6 weeks without hydrating is unhygienic and a long time in my opinion. And you can’t help shampoo etc when bathing and showering. Mine are fine and i don’t think anyone has had anything negative come of this. You don’t have to follow my advice just like I won’t follow yours. People can go with whatever and do whatever. Every surgeon has their own advice and credentials. It’s not gonna kill you or harm the incisions as they’re against infection for the first 2 weeks

As everyone has said each surgeon has their own view on what and when to apply also it depends on exactly what u had done ie. An uplift /nipple lift.

The issue is when people take advice from the forum but dont check it with their nurse who is following the instructions from the surgeon who did the op. Lauren only sharing what she has been advised and worked for her which isn’t an issue to be fair.

My boob flaking got mental flaking so much it’s like dandruff I tried tons of things ans the only thing that has stopped the flaking is black Jamaican castor oil on my boobs only not incisions . I only have it cos I use it in my scalp and hair to keep it moistured (I have afro hair)and on my cuticles. It smells disgusting and it’s very thick but I was desperate last night I couldn’t take it anymore! But u can get it scented with Lavender or Ylang-ylang by a company called sunny Isle. Just like Lauren I’m saying what works for me not telling anyone what they must do.

Plus everyone heals differently and maybe allergic to things etc I knew already I wasn’t allergic to it.

Ive only just got the all clear for showers I’ve been having shallow baths for a month. I was told I can only use sanex zero shower gel and not to scrub the incisions but let the water flow down and rinse well.

I’m moisturising my breasts but not incisions as I still have scabs and have been told not to until after six weeks by my surgeon. I had a mini uplift (nipples) and I am a Mya patient.

    Fxx

@fran32 thank you Fran. I simply advise and do not tell anybody what to do. It’s up to them whether they wish to do this or not.

I was the same as you for shallow baths. I started showering after 4 weeks and I’m now 9 weeks and feel free to do pretty much anything. With the incisions I am allowed cos I’m 9 weeks but at 3-4 I was simply only using lotion. Even now I let the water run and don’t touch it with a scrubbing brush or sponge. No way. My incisions healed pretty quick on the outside so I was given the go ahead after 3-4 weeks for creams but yes everybody is different in healing. I didn’t scab really and they’re practically invisible. Xx

I started using Dermalmd scar serum 2 weeks after I had breast reduction surgery as it was recommended by my plastic surgeon, when I started using it the scar tissue looked rather red and sore and was very visible at the time, now 5 weeks after the surgery and after using dermalmd for 3 weeks there is a very visible reduction in the scaring to the point where you would not even know I had had a breast reduction, you would not even know I even had scaring if I did not point it out. I would definitely recommend dermalmd to anyone who had any kind of scaring. I have noticed as well that the dermalmd has made the scar tissue very supple to the point it does not feel like I had to scare at all as it does not get sore or bend in a way that would make me remember I had it and the scaring does not hurt when it gets cold either. i use it twice a day on the affected area and to the skin around the scars.
