Uplift incisions, not healing well :( Started by: Christie-Leigh

So I’m just over 3WPO and was hoping I would have my dressings completely off at my nurses appointment on Tuesday. Instead I’ve got further dressings on my left boob as I have two little holes in my incisions from where my stitches have popped out. I’m absolutely gutted and so worried in case it gets worse. My right boob is absolutely fine.
The nurse said she isn’t at all worried as it’s not infected, but obviously I’m in panic mode!

Has anyone had any problems like this before? I go away in 6 weeks and I’m so scared they won’t be healed in time 🙁

Oh no Christie, 🙁 At least you managed to get in and see the nurse and have it re-dressed, I know it’s easier said then done but try not to worry too much. The body is a funny thing and will start healing, did the nurse say how long it could I’ll take? Do you need to go back in a few days? I’ve been trying to keep mine as dry as possible, still not getting them soaked in shower etc and pat them dry gently straight away. Hope you are okay . Xxxx

Hey Christie – I’m nearly 6 weeks post op after uplift. Mine are slowly healing too and have got two scabs just under nipple at the join bit that are taking their time! I had to have another dressing on 3 weeks and now 6 weeks they are nearly healed so don’t worry – I’m also going away in 2 weeks time and desperate for them to fully heal! X

@ydt1983 Thanks Lex. I’m really down about it at the moment. Massively overthinking it as well which doesn’t help! Got to go back again next Wednesday to have them checked again so I’ll keep you posted! How are you doing? Xx

Hi Rebecca! Oh really? Did yours look like mine a bit? I’m so worried that I’m gonna end up with a huge hole in my boob! I’m taking photos every day to see if it’s getting worse! Turned into a crazy woman lol. Do you have any pics of what yours looked like? Xx

Yeah they did! I have one pic I sent to nurse – it looks quite grim but no infection and it’s healed up and the scab is nearly gone! I know what you mean I stopped taking pictures I think it just makes you worry more! They look worse in pics too. Hope this helps x

@christieleigh try not to get too down about it, you will be right as rain before you know it and have fab healed up boobies. I can totally relate to you worrying about it though, its only natural! Definitely try and keep them dry, i think that has helped with my healing. I have only showered once and i didn’t like it so I’ve stuck to shallow baths and sponging them down really lightly and drying them straight off! xxx

@beckalinamoss88 I changed my dressing today, partly coz I wanted to see it lol. Looks like it’s healing well I just need it to scab!

@ytd1983 I know I know. It’s just hard to take my mind off it! I’ve changed my dressing and had a quick look and it looks ok ish. Xxx

Yeah your scars looks fine. I was similar at 3 weeks and I’m now 5 weeks po from nipple reduction and uplift I had a few holes but healed quickly in the last 2 weeks. They will look a lot better when your at. 5/6 weeks, try not to worry as they are healing nicely 🙂 xx
