Many women decide to have a boob job (also known as breast augmentation) for a number of reasons; some may lack the self-confidence they desire due to asymmetry or may suffer from low self-esteem due to the appearance of their breasts after pregnancy or weight loss. More commonly, some women may have simply not grown to the size they wished for during puberty. Whatever the reason, choosing to have a boob job is a life-changing decision, improving mental well-being as well as physical appearance.
Breast augmentation in the UK is becoming increasingly popular due to being a low risk procedure with a high satisfaction rate. The actual procedure usually takes around 45-60 minutes under general anaesthetic or local anaesthetic with sedation. Here at MYA, we’ve recently introduced the option of having a breast surgery procedure under local anaesthetic with sedation, providing our customers with another choice of procedure that may suit their needs better. No matter which procedure you choose, either under general or local anaesthetic, the breast augmentation surgery will be completed within the hour.
Boob jobs can include:
- Breast Enlargement
- Breast Uplift
- Breast Reduction
- Breast Implant Removal and Breast Reaugmentation
- Male Breast Reduction (Gynaecomastia)
Breast Surgery Explained
Breast or ‘boob’ surgery as it is sometimes referred to, involves the insertion of an implant to increase cup size and make the breast fuller. A small incision is made along the natural crease of the breast, the implant is inserted, and the incision is then sealed with dissolvable stitches for your convenience and comfort. You can choose exactly when you want to undergo the procedure to ensure you feel completely at ease and you can stay overnight in the hospital for added convenience.
At MYA, we use the highest quality implants that comply with strict regulations and quality standards to ensure you have the best experience possible, both pre and post procedure. We only use Mentor breast implants; it’s the company we trust the most, being part of the reputable Johnson & Johnson family and having over 40 years’ experience in making breast implants.
To ensure you make as fast a recovery as possible from your breast surgery we recommend taking 1 week off work. Once you’ve recovered, you’ll have many happy times ahead of you to enjoy your brand new appearance and rediscover your confidence, all thanks to MYA’s boob job.
The MYA Fitzroy hospital in London is one of our most popular locations for breast surgery, having performed 582 boob jobs between May 2014 and October 2014. For more information on pricing for this procedure, click here.
MYA has a network of nationwide plastic surgery breast augmentation clinics which includes Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Cardiff, Nottingham, Birmingham, London, Chelmsford and Bristol.
