MYA COVID testing and Isolation guide

Our guide to pre-operative COVID-19 testing and self-isolation. The below guidance is to help you reduce the risk of catching COVID before your cosmetic surgery procedure.

COVID testing

MYA recommend that you self-isolate before your procedure to reduce the risk of catching COVID. A COVID test will be performed on admission to the hospital on the day of your procedure, if you test positive for COVID your procedure will be cancelled.

If you are fully vaccinated	If you are NOT fully vaccinated
You MUST complete a lateral flow test 72 hrs prior to your procedure date from an authorised provider	You MUST complete a PCR Test 72 hrs prior to your procedure date from an authorised provider
Your hospital team will perform a second lateral flow test upon admission	Your hospital team will perform a lateral flow test upon admission
You are advised to self-isolate following your first lateral flow test to minimise the risk of contracting Coronavirus (72 hrs ahead of your admission date)	You are advised to self-isolate following your PCR test to minimise the risk of contracting Coronavirus (72hrs ahead of your admission date

*Vaccination status is verified via the NHS COVID pass or via your GP summary that is requested for all MYA patients.

How to self-isolate at home

What happens if I test positive?

If you test positive for COVID your procedure will be cancelled. A new date can only be scheduled once we have received there scheduling fee and a negative test result 7 weeks post infection. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to speak with a member of the MYA team.

*If you test positive for COVID on the day of your procedure, your operation will be cancelled and you will pay a rescheduling fee which is 25% of your procedure cost - Example: 25% of £6,900=£1,725
