There are lots of things that you might want to do soon after breast augmentation, especially with all the confidence you can get from the procedure! However, it’s best to play it very safely in the immediate weeks and months after your operation. Here are some of the common activities you may want to hold off on.
It is advised that you don’t fly short haul for 4 weeks and long haul for 6 weeks following a breast augmentation. Check with your surgeon or clinic nurse before flying after your surgery.
You are advised to wait at least 6 weeks before going on holiday abroad. You will need to discuss holiday plans with your surgeon and MYA clinical team who will be able to give you specific advice before you plan to travel.
You must avoid strenuous activity following surgery. This includes heavy lifting (such as lifting children). It is strongly advised that you follow the advice given by your surgeon and clinical team at MYA. You may start to exercise and attend the gym 6-8 weeks post op after your clinic nurse has advised you it is safe to do so. However, if you feel uncomfortable, you should refrain from exercise until you have discussed this with your surgeon.
You will not be able to swim until you are advised it is safe to do so by your MYA surgeon and clinical team.
As rest is an essential part of your recovery, driving is not recommended for up to 2 weeks following surgery.
Note: this is not an exhaustive list; your Surgeon and healthcare team at MYA will provide you with further information about your pre and post-operative care and advice.
