Should a patient wish to move forward with surgery within 14 days of their surgical consultation they will be required to sign a disclaimer. The disclaimer states that in line with the recommendations produced by The Royal College of Surgeons 2013, Professional Standards for Cosmetic Practice and the General Medical Council, February 2013, “Good Medical Practice in Cosmetic Surgery”, in order to allow an adequate time for reflection a cooling off period of at least two weeks after the initial consultation is advised therefore they would not normally admit any patient for a procedure to be performed within this time-frame.
However we understand that patients may be date restricted or they have thought about the procedure for many years and wish pursue with surgery as soon as possible. Therefore the patient is required to sign that it is their personal choice to advance and progress with surgery within the recommended two week cooling off period.
A deposit is required for any MYA patient to confirm their procedure booking, any deposit paid before a consultation with a MYA surgeon is refundable. After the consultation with a MYA surgeon, the deposit becomes non-refundable unless the cancellation of the procedure is made within the 7 day financial cooling off period. If a patient wishes to cancel outside of the 7 day financial cooling off period they will be liable for the full cost of the procedure. No cancellation fee will apply if the procedure is cancelled by a MYA surgeon or any other MYA medical professional by reasons of that medical professional deeming the patient to be medically unfit for the procedure.
It is in our best interests to ensure the safe keeping of all MYA patients. Should you require further information about MYA’s cancellation policy please refer to the MYA patient guide terms and conditions which is provided at your initial consultation.
