At the time of having my breasts done I had lost a lot of weight and felt very out of proportion as I am quite bottom heavy and became very flat chested. I wanted to feel more womanly.
When deciding on where to get my procedure, I did a lot of research. I felt MYA was the best option for me. Mainly due to clinic and hospital locations, cost of procedure and the finance option. I instantly gelled with my PC at my initial consultation, she made me feel validated and reassured so this definitely helped make my decision.
My surgeon consultation was really informative, and he put me at ease and was honest about his capabilities and the outcome he would expect.
When it come to my recovery, I’m going to be honest, I was a lot sorer than I thought I would be. For the first week you really do need to rest and literally do nothing to aid the healing. However, after 2 weeks I was well on the way to recovery and then back to the gym after 6 weeks, doing light exercises. My scars are very minimal and only noticeable if I lift my boobs up. They have never caused me any issues and I have never felt conscious about them.
Following my procedure I feel much more confident in my gym clothes i.e sports bra and swimwear. Even just wearing a tight-fitting shirt which I would usually avoid before my procedure.
Why is being body honest important to you?
I feel it’s more common nowadays to talk about cosmetic surgery, whereas before it felt like a taboo subject. I feel the world is more open to people being their genuine self and doing what makes them feel more confident and comfortable. It’s good to express your thoughts and feelings especially if you are thinking of having cosmetic surgery and want to know other people’s journeys, experiences and procedures to gain comfortability for your own journey.
